Research and Development into Polymer Coatings
At Surface Engineering our Research and Development team bring together academic knowledge and practical industry experience to push the boundaries of current coating technology. As a result, we are able to offer our clients a range of our own patented coatings.
New coatings to cover a wide range of industrial problems are being continuously developed and recently we have been working on a new and more effective process for Ni-PTFE coatings.
We are pleased to report that we have now been granted a patent on our Ni-PTFE coatings. Our Ni-PTFE coating process is a Nano-Tech Process which provides coatings with 800 HV microhardness, an excellent non-stick surface and 0.07 dynamic coefficient of friction. This coating process is proving a great favourite with clients having applications where low coefficient of friction and non-stick hard surfaces are required e.g. aluminium moulds for plastic moulding and various other applications with similar requirements. The treated components have demonstrated longer life spans, improved performance, time saving and help to the environment by eliminating the use of spray can lubricants.
